Marlo obtained his Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Economics at LIACS. His bachelor project focused on analysing time series data, ECG data, to learn more about social anxiety. He performed this research in collaboration with dr. Esther van den Bos in the unit Developmental and Educational Psychology of the Institute of Psychology at Leiden University.

He was supervised by dr. Matthijs van Leeuwen at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS).
