Antonis acquired his bachelor's degree in Physics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and obtained his master's degree in Data Science and Statistics at Leiden University. He conducted his thesis project at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS).

In this project he worked on day-to-day migraine attack prediction based on weather data with the use of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs). With this project he aimed to help patients gain better control over their disease so that migraines will not be as disabling in their everyday lives. He also worked towards gaining a better understanding of migraines, by exploring the association of numerous potential trigger factors and migraine incidences.
