Ana Leticia Garcez Vicente is a Ph.D. candidate at the Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS), Leiden University, under the supervision of Dr. Matthijs van Leeuwen and Dr. Saber Salehkaleybar. Her research focuses on causal inference, with particular interests in causal effect identification and root causal analysis. She is broadly interested in statistics, optimisation, machine learning, and graphical models.

Before starting her Ph.D., Ana obtained her M.Sc. in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from the University of São Paulo (ICMC-USP), where she focused on applications of machine learning in neuroscience. During her master’s, she also conducted research at Carnegie Mellon University.
